The Best Images of 2016: Sun on the Horizon Clingman’s Dome Smoky Mountain National Park Tennessee
I’ve photographed in the Smoky Mountains of East Tennessee on a bunch of occasions. One scene that eluded me because of conditions or time was that classic rippled Appalachian mountain scene at sunset.
This past October, I made an extra effort to capture that scene while shooting from the highest point in the park, Clingman’s Dome.
I like this image. It’s soft, gentle, the colors are complementary and soothing… It turned out just right with the warm colors juxtaposed against the cool blues. I’ll probably have this one made into a print for the next art fair we do.
