About this Portfolio
The world moves fast, sometimes way too fast for me. As a society, we’ve lost touch with a simple life and a slower pace. To cure some of our ills, I think we need to re-connect with simplicity and end our obsession with consumption.
Contained in this gallery are images that I’ve captured at historical villages, small towns, flea markets and other places where forgotten treasures of the past still exist. I consider all of these subjects important and worthy of celebration. I believe they reflect simpler times.
I hunt for these images. When I find one, particularly if it is an object, I never touch it or move it. I try to capture it exactly how it is sitting in relation to the place it’s in. The people around me, however, see a quirky guy with a camera dancing around something… and I’m sure it makes for quite a sight!
If your home is decorated in a country, Americana style and you have an appreciation for the past and all things simple, I’m pretty certain you’ll find some images here that speak to you. I’ve had many people buy a series of these images and cluster them together to display on a wall in a kitchen, hallway or foyer. I think they would great as country restaurant decor.
